Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco receives the Secretary-General of the Academy at his office in Rabat

H.E. Mr Ahmed Al-Tawfiq, Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco, received at the headquarters of the Ministry, H.E. the Secretary-General of the Academy, Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, on Wednesday morning 29 Jamada Al-Oula 1442, corresponding to 14 January 2021.

H.E. the Minister welcomed his guest and congratulated him on his appointment as the Secretary-General of the Academy, and expressed his great pleasure for this appointment, which he considers as an effective synergy between stable political competence and authentic jurisprudential knowledge, wishing that this harmony will contribute to realizing the relationship between jurisprudence and reality on the one hand, and between jurists and the Ummah’s concerns on the other hand.

H.E. the Minister also expressed his full confidence that the International Islamic Fiqh Academy will benefit from the competencies and experiences accumulated over years by H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano between the universities and behind the scenes of politics and diplomacy, to boost the performance of the Academy, its development and elevating it to realize the aspirations and hopes placed in it by the OIC Member States.

H.E. the Minister concluded his address by expressing the acceptance of the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs and its various agencies and departments to all that would strengthen cooperation and communication relations with the Academy at all levels, noting in this regard the willingness of the Ministry to host one of the forthcoming sessions of the Academy, through the Supreme Scientific Council of Morocco.

For his part, H.E. the Secretary-General of the Academy expressed his sincere thanks and deep gratitude to the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs for his warm welcome and conveyed to him greetings from the President of the Academy, H.E. Sheikh Saleh bin Hamid, the Advisor to the Royal Saudi Court, Member of the Council of Senior Scholars, and Imam Khatib of the Great Mosque of Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

His Excellency also expressed the Academy’s gratitude and deep appreciation for the tremendous support that the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco has accorded to it since its inception. He also appreciated the willingness of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Morocco to host one of the forthcoming sessions of the Academy through the Supreme Scientific Council of Morocco.

His Excellency assured that the Academy was ready to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Supreme Scientific Council to coordinate efforts, integrate visions and strengthen partnership relations between the two institutions in various scientific fields and common interest areas.

At the end of the meeting, H.E., the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs presented the Secretary-General of the Academy with a luxurious copy of an artistic book annotated with Allah’s most beautiful names.

He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
