H.E. Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen receives the first copy of the fourth edition of the Academy’s resolutions and recommendations

H.E. Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, OIC Secretary-General, received H.E. Prof. Koutoub Sano in his office at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah, on Monday 12 Jamada Al-Akhira 1442 corresponding to 25 January 2021. This visit came on the occasion of the publication of the fourth edition of the Academy’s resolutions and recommendations.

H.E. the OIC Secretary-General expressed his sincere thanks and warm congratulations to the Secretary-General of the Academy for this great achievement in a record period since his assumption of his duties as the Secretary-General of the Academy, who promised to send a copy of this precious publication to the OIC Member states, and also expressed his aspiration to see more achievements of the Academy in the coming days, confirming – in this regard – his continued support to the Academy’s activities and programs.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Academy thanked H.E. the OIC Secretary-General for the special attention and diligence accorded to the Academy, which massively contributed to the achievement of this work. His Excellency also thanked the Secretary-General of the Academy and its staff for their tireless efforts to promote and develop its performance to enable it to achieve its vision, mission and objectives.

The Secretary-General of the Academy took this opportunity to inform H.E. the OIC Secretary-General that the translation into English and French of the resolutions and recommendations is -Allah willing- being prepared for printing and publication in the near future.

At the end of the meeting, on behalf of H.E. Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid, President of the Academy, Advisor to the Royal Court, Member of the Council of Senior Scholars, and Imam-Khatib of the Great Mosque of Makkah, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Sano presented the first copy of the fourth edition of the Academy’s resolutions and recommendations to H.E. the OIC Secretary General and expressed again his thanks for his continued support to the Academy.

It should be noted that this new edition comes after an eleven-year hiatus and includes all the resolutions, recommendations and declarations issued by the International Islamic Fiqh Academy since its creation forty years ago.

He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
