17th Periodic Meeting of the Departments’ Directors

H.E. Prof. Koutoub Mustafa Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy, held on Sunday 19 Jamada al-Akhira 1442, corresponding to 1 February 2021, the 17th periodic meeting of the directors of the Academy’s departments. His Excellency opened the meeting by thanking the publications and dedication committee members for their esteemed efforts in inventorying and arranging the contents of the main warehouse located at Quraysh Street in Jeddah and for meeting the deadlines of this task.

Furthermore, His Excellency requested the conferences and seminars department to prepare a letter of thanks and appreciation to the honourable jurists and experts who participated in the first scientific forum held recently on the strengthening of partnership and cooperation relations between the Academy and the heads, secretaries, and members of Shariah councils and committees of Islamic banks and financial institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

His Excellency also requested the publications and dedication committee to send a copy of the fourth edition of the Academy’s resolutions and recommendations together with a draft final declaration and recommendations of the forum before its approval and publication.

The meeting resulted in the following decisions:

  1. Accelerate the rehabilitation of the Academy’s main warehouse located on Quraysh street by installing the necessary lighting and maintenance.
  2. To follow-up serious correspondence with the members and experts of the Academy regarding the nomination of institutions or individuals capable of translating the fourth edition of the book of resolutions and recommendations of the Academy into the most important regional languages prevailing in the OIC Member States such as Hausa, Mandigo, Malay, Farsi, Urdu, Russian.
  3. To start developing an integrated conceptualization of the dates of the scientific forums between the Academy and the Shariah councils and committees in East, Southeast Asia, North, South and West Africa, as well as the Central Banks of the OIC Member states, meanwhile the next scientific forum will be held between the Academy and the Shariah councils and committees of the Central Banks within the OIC Member States during coming March.
  4. To continue the regular cyclical updating of the Academy’s website by updating its content and presenting it in an interesting and fine manner.
  1. The need to complete the printing of the Five-Year Strategic Plan, as well as the translation and printing of the Academy’s Statute, Internal and Executive Regulations by the mid of this month, with Strategic Plan’s contents to start implementation by early March for the latest.

Secretary‑General of the Academy Visits the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Excellency Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, paid an official visit on 29 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 17 February 2026, to the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Jeddah. His Excellency and his accompanying delegation were received by His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Salah Sobhi Hameed, Consul General and Permanent Representative of Jordan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, who welcomed him warmly and expressed his pleasure at the visit. He praised the distinguished intellectual efforts undertaken by the Academy under His Excellency’s leadership in addressing numerous religious and intellectual issues of concern to the Islamic world, affirming his personal honor in meeting His Excellency again and Jordan’s keenness to strengthen channels of communication and cooperation with the Academy, especially in areas of mutual interest. For his part, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude and great appreciation to the Ambassador for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
