In search of further coordination and communication with the OIC subsidiary and specialized organs, a delegation from the Secretariat General of the Academy headed by H.E. Prof. Koutoub Sano visited the headquarters of the OIC Islamic Solidarity Fund on Monday morning 10 Rajab 1442 corresponding to 22 February 2021.

H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Al-Khuzayem, Executive Director of the Fund, warmly welcomed the delegation and thanked them for this visit. He then gave a comprehensive presentation with photos and documentation on the Fund’s activities and its achievements in several OIC Member States. The executive director also reviewed several ongoing development projects of the Fund, mentioning – in this regard – the Fund’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with the Academy and provide it with the necessary support for its activities.

The Secretary General of the Academy thanked the Executive Director for the warm welcome and congratulated him for the Fund’s remarkable achievements in supporting various types of development projects in the OIC Member states, emphasizing the Academy’s willingness to provide Shariah support to the Fund through its sessions, conferences and seminars, by calling on the OIC Member states to double their contributions to the Fund through zakat, charities and endowments.

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to follow up on the two agencies’ periodic meetings and coordinate efforts to achieve the mutual objectives.
