The General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy mourns His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Minister of Finance, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates

《 Those who, when a calamity befalls them, say: We belong to God and to Him we shall return》 Al-Baqarah: 156

《 Nor can a soul die except by Allah’s leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that (serve us with) gratitude》 Al-Imran: 145

With heart full of sadness and sorrow, and with sincere faith in the judgment and destiny of God, and with complete surrender to the powerful will of God, the General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy received the news of the death of the late His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

On this sad occasion the members, experts and associates of the Academy would like to express their sincere condolences to the government and people of the United Arab Emirates. They would also like to seek the mercyfulness and forgiveness of the Almighty on the soul of the deceased. May He forgive him, pardon him, accept him in His Paradise, and grant him the company of the prophets, the righteous, the martyrs, the righteous.

On the same time the Secretariat General prays to the Most Kind to grant the courage and patience to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, to the family of the deceased, and to his loved.

Indeed the members and experts of the Academy will remain grateful and thankful to the late His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid, May God have Mercy on him, for his generous sponsorship of the twenty-fourth session of the Academy’s assembly, which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in 2019.

May God make the reward for that in the balance of his good deeds on the day of judgement.

Secretary‑General of the Academy Visits the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Excellency Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, paid an official visit on 29 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 17 February 2026, to the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Jeddah. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
