The 33rd weekly meeting of the directors of the Academy’s departments was held on Tuesday, 06 Dhul al-Qida 1442, corresponding to 16 June 2021.
His Excellency opened the meeting by praying mercy and forgiveness to the late Secretary General of the Academy, H.E. Prof. Ahmed Khaled Babeker, who passed away last week in Riyadh.
His Excellency also thanked the delegation that was sent on behalf of the Academy to attend the funeral of the deceased and to present their condolences, which had a great impact on relieving his family, who in turn expressed their sincere thanks to the Academy and its staff for their generous support during this tragic event.
His Excellency also spoke about his visit to Indonesia, which achieved the desired objectives of consolidating relations with the Member States and presenting the Academy’s mission in Indonesia, which no former Secretary General of the Academy had ever visited there before. His Excellency met with several high officials and scholars, headed by His Excellency the Minister of Religious Affairs, and the President General of the Indonesian Ulema Council, and the President of Sharif Hidayatullah University, which is the largest university in Indonesia. Together they discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination and to sign joint cooperation agreements concerning ifta and muftis, and to translate some books into Indonesian.
Several decisions were taken during this meeting, notably:
-To Translate the strategic plan into French according to the new structure of the departments’ activities, and coordinate each activity’s planning, and printing the new version in the form of a brochure.
-To Translate all agreements by the Secretariat General of the Academy into the three languages of the OIC.
-To send copies of the fourth edition of the resolutions to Sharif Hidayatullah University, and to the Indonesian Ulema Council and ask them to translate it into Indonesian language to reach largest number of the Indonesian public.
