The Academy was represented by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, the Secretary General, and the Ministry was represented by His Excellency Professor Qamar El-Din, Director General of Islamic Affairs at the Ministry. This agreement marks the beginning of a new era of the strategic partnership between the Academy and the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, which represents nearly three hundred million Muslims. It also represents a successful start to building close and promising cooperation relations between the Academy and the well-established Indonesian religious institutions, especially the Indonesian Ulema Council, the major religious associations, and the leading scientific and educational institutions in the field of shariah jurisprudence, humanities and applied studies.

Under this agreement, the two sides agreed to jointly organize conferences, symposia, and workshops on various contemporary issues, prepare research and scientific studies, and exchange publications.

It is worth noting that seventy five (75) years have passed since the establishment of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Indonesia, making it one of the oldest ministries of religious affairs in the Islamic world.
