His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Hafidh Al-Rabtah, Supreme Judge of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, received Professor Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), on Sunday, 1 Dhu al-Hijjah 1442, corresponding to July 11, 2021, in his office in the capital Amman.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Eminence welcomed His Excellency, thanked him for this visit, and congratulated him on his appointment as Secretary General of the Academy. He then praised the great scientific role played by the Academy in issuing decisions and recommendations that are characterized by accuracy and comprehensiveness, as well as spreading a culture of moderation and tolerance, which makes His Eminence looking forward to strengthening ways of cooperation and coordination between the Academy and the Department of the Supreme Judge, in addition to other religious scientific institutions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

For his part, His Excellency the Secretary General expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Eminence the Supreme Judge for the warm welcome and expressed his great happiness in the preservation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for this historical function under this glorious old title. He also expressed the Academy’s full readiness to enhance cooperation and communication with this department, which is the first reference for Muslims in civic matters and issues such as marriage, divorce, alimony, inheritance, etc…

His Excellency concluded his speech by expressing to his Eminence the Academy’s readiness to cooperate with Jordanian scholars in general and the judges of his department in particular to study all the latest developments and calamities related to the topic of the family, and to issue the appropriate decisions and recommendations.

It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Awqafs, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, the Director of Sharia Courts, Sheikh Saud Al-Salameen, the Head of Sharia Appeals of Amman Dr. Samer Al-Qubaj, the Director of the Technical Office Dr. Ashraf Al-Omari, and the Director of the Judicial Inspection Dr. Samih Al-Zoubi.

At the end of the visit the two sides exchanged souvenirs.
