The Director General of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Makkah Region Branch receives IIFA Secretary General

His Excellency Ambassador Mazen bin Hamad Al Himali, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Branch in Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received on Tuesday 17 Dhul-Hijjah 1442 corresponding to July 27, 2021, in his office in Jeddah, His Excellency Professor Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) and the delegation accompanying him.

The Ambassador welcomed His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Sano and congratulated him again on his appointment as Secretary General of the Academy. He also assured him of the utmost care and special status that the Academy enjoys from the leadership of the headquarters country.

For his part, His Excellency the Secretary General of the Academy expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the warm reception to him and the accompanying delegation, praising on this occasion the great moral and material support of the government of the headquarters country for the Academy, which greatly contributed to facilitating the work of the General Secretariat and enabling it to carry out its role with ease and efficiency.

His Excellency also seized the occasion and gave his host a historical overview of the establishment of the Academy, its objectives, aspirations and hopes attached to it by OIC member states and Muslims around the world. He also briefed him on the achievements of the Academy in recent months, which would not have seen the light without the continuous support the Academy receives from the headquarters country. His Excellency concluded his speech by inviting H.E. Ambassador Mazen Al Himali to visit the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Shatha Abdel Hamid Al-Hazmi from the office of the branch’s Director General, Ms. Sarah Amjad Hussein, director of the Family Affairs Department at the Academy, and Mr. Mourad TLiLi, Media and Public Relations Advisor to the Secretary General at the Academy.
