In an effort to enhance cooperation, coordination, and communication between the departments of the General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), and a desire to identify the various difficulties facing the Academy’s employees, as well as their constructive suggestions aimed at improving the performance at work in terms of quality and perfection, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, chaired the 10th monthly periodic meeting of the Academy’s staff on Sunday, 22 Dhu al-Hijjah 1442 corresponding to August 01, 2021.
His Excellency began the meeting with a eulogy of the Academy Council member, the representative of the State of Lebanon, His Excellency Sheikh Khalil bin Mohi Al-Din Al-Mays, the Mufti of Zahle and Beqaa, may God have mercy on him and put him in his vast paradise. He passed away on Thursday 19 Dhu al-Hijjah 1442 corresponding to July 29, 2021, and His Excellency spoke about the virtues and legacy of the deceased and offered the Academy’s sincere condolences to his family and relatives, the State of Lebanon, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
Then His Excellency spoke about the importance of showing outstanding work ethics that facilitates the run of business in the Academy and enhances its progress. He also urged all employees to show cooperation, collaboration, and complementarity among them for the benefit of the work and its continuity at the required level.
His Excellency then moved to the subject of “Zayed’s Encyclopedia for the Rules of Jurisprudence”, noting in this regard the importance of reprinting it after a review of procedural issues that can be overcome, and publishing it in a new edition to be used by the public. Then His Excellency opened the floor to the attendees to give their opinions and suggestions regarding work within the Academy.
The meeting resulted in a number of decisions, notably:
- Sending a condolence Letter to the Embassy of the Lebanese Republic on the occasion of the death of Sheikh Khalil Al-Mays, may God have mercy on him and forgive him.
- Reprinting “Zayed’s Encyclopedia for the Rules of Jurisprudence” in a revised and concise edition.
- Adding a tab on the website’s home page to call for donations to the Academy’s Endowment Fund.
- Uploading the CVs of the members and experts of the Council of the Academy on the main website of the Academy.
