His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the forty first weekly meeting of the directors of the Academy’s departments on Monday, Muharram 14, 1443H, corresponding to August 23, 2021G, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees and thanking everyone for attending, then spoke about the importance of these meetings as the ideal means for getting together, exchanging views, and presenting opinions, as well as enhancing relations of cooperation, collaboration, and fraternity among employees. His Excellency then reiterated his call for departments to abide by the strategic plan and work to complete its activities and programs within the specified deadlines.
His Excellency also spoke about the symposium on “encrypted digital currencies” that the Academy intends to hold during the month of September, and then touched on the message received from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) regarding the intention of the Secretary General elect to visit the Academy next week, as part of the visits program carried out to the subsidiary organs of the OIC.
The meeting discussed a number of issues, and several decisions were taken, the most important of which are:
- Including the topic of the guarantee letter and documented credit within the topics of the twenty fifth Annual Session.
- Starting the process of proposing topics for the twenty sixth Annual Session and writing to members and experts of the Academy to suggest topics, provided that the topics include all topics postponed from previous Sessions.
- Coordinating the visits to the Assistant Secretaries General of the OIC for Political Affairs, Science and Technology, and for Palestine & Al-Quds Affairs.
