23rd Periodic Meeting of Divisions Heads

On Thursday, 08 of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1443H corresponding to October 14, 2021G, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the twenty-third periodic meeting of the heads of divisions at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy.

His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, stressing the importance of implementing and activating the decisions of the periodic meetings and the need for cooperation and coordination among all employees in order to achieve the objectives of the Academy and to realize its activities and events to the fullest. His Excellency also reminded everyone of the moral duty towards all Muslims to perform the tasks entrusted to each of us.

His Excellency informed the attendees that the Financial Control Committee had completed its work, noting that the General Secretariat is waiting for the detailed report from the Committee to benefit from it in improving the administrative and financial procedures. He also noted that the Committee had left some practical directives and proposals in order to raise the level of transparency and integrity in all transactions. His Excellency concluded with thanks and appreciation to the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs for its management of the task of financial audits with the Committee and for providing it with all comfort and facilitation to help accomplish its mission. His Excellency also informed the attendees that the design of the new site for the Academy is nearing completion and will be launched next week.

The meeting discussed a number of topics, and took a number of decisions regarding them, the most important of which are:

  • Forming a procurement committee to monitor all contracts and the financial transactions of the Academy in order to achieve financial integrity and transparency.
  • Forming an inventory committee to monitor the warehouses and their contents in order to preserve the Academy’s properties and various assets.
  • Designing the monthly newsletter and the quarterly magazine internally and training more than one employee on it so that we can achieve continuity at work.

Secretary‑General of the Academy Visits the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Excellency Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, paid an official visit on 29 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 17 February 2026, to the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Jeddah. His Excellency and his accompanying delegation were received by His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Salah Sobhi Hameed, Consul General and Permanent Representative of Jordan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, who welcomed him warmly and expressed his pleasure at the visit. He praised the distinguished intellectual efforts undertaken by the Academy under His Excellency’s leadership in addressing numerous religious and intellectual issues of concern to the Islamic world, affirming his personal honor in meeting His Excellency again and Jordan’s keenness to strengthen channels of communication and cooperation with the Academy, especially in areas of mutual interest. For his part, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude and great appreciation to the Ambassador for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
