24th Periodic Meeting of Divisions Heads

On Thursday, 22 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1443H corresponding to October 28, 2021G, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the twenty-fourth periodic meeting of divisions heads, via Zoom technology, from his residence in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, where he leads an official visit.

His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, thanking them for their appreciated efforts to complete all the work related to preparing for the cryptocurrency symposium that the Academy will hold soon. His Excellency urged everyone to exert maximum effort and full cooperation between all departments and divisions to overcome any obstacles and achieve the goals set for all in order to enhance the status of the Academy and its international reputation as the first jurisprudential institution in the Muslim world. His Excellency also congratulated all employees of the launch of the new official website of the Academy and urged everyone to maintain it well through continuous development and improvement.

His Excellency also referred to the official visit that he and his accompanying delegation are currently making to the United Arab Emirates and reassured every one of the success of the visit so far, as the Academy signed a partnership and cooperation agreement with the World Council of Muslim Communities in Abu Dhabi, which opens wide prospects for the Academy for direct interaction with Muslim communities operating outside the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). His Excellency also briefed the divisions heads on the initial agreement made by His Excellency with the Emirati side during his meeting with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf in the United Arab Emirates, to hold the 26th Annual Session of the Academy in the capital Abu Dhabi.

The meeting discussed a number of topics, and took a number of decisions regarding them, the most important of which are:

  • Calling for papers for the “Family values” symposium and the “Phenomenon of Atonement” symposium, starting from mid-November 2021 until the end of January 2022.
  • Preparing a press release about the issuance of a new book by the Academy’s employee, Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Shuaib.
  • The necessity of improving and developing the new website of the Academy by amending the headings in English and French.
