Statement on the Homicidal Attack on a French family near Medina

Praise is due to Allāh, Lord of the worlds, may the blessings and peace be upon our master Muḥammad, the last of prophets, on his family, and all his companions.

The Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy expressed his deep indignation at the violent and shameful attacks that cost the lives of four French persons outside the city of Madinah yesterday while they were travelling to perform the rites of the Umrah.

This attack confirmed that the perpetrators of such crimes have deviated from human values and religious principles, rejecting the precepts of the upright Islamic religion which preserves the sanctity of the blood of Muslims, and Allah the Almighty has threatened the criminals with severe and manifold punishments; He said: « But whoever kills a believer intentionally – his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment. » An-Nisa -93, and He has « whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. » Al-Ma’ida -32

The Secretariat General reiterates that Saudi security services are vigilant and give professional treatment to these criminal aggressors with the punishment they deserve, without violating the rules of our religion.
