Dean of the Diplomatic Corps welcomes IIFA Secretary General in Riyadh

His Excellency Ambassador Thiauddin Bamakhrama, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, and Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti, received on Wednesday, 02 Jumadah al-Akhira 1443H, corresponding to 05 January 2022, in his office in the Embassy district of Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA).

His Excellency began his speech by expressing his great thanks to His Excellency and his entourage for the visit, praising his Excellency’s outstanding efforts in promoting the Academy, and communicating with the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and expressing his great appreciation for the developments that the Academy has been witnessing since his Excellency assumed the leadership of the General Secretariat of the Academy, noting the great role of the Academy in disseminating moderation and promotion of a culture of moderation, tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He concluded by expressing his aspiration for the Academy to partner with leading religious institutions in East Africa to organize a specialized scientific seminar in Djibouti on promoting moderation, a culture of moderation, tolerance and the fight against extremism and terrorism in the region.

For his part, His Excellency the Secretary General of the Academy expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Ambassador for his good reception and hospitality, praising his Excellency’s great role in strengthening the relations of cooperation and partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all embassies diplomatic missions accredited in the Kingdom, noting the great confidence and respect that Hix Excellency enjoys from all in recognition of his wisdom and judiciousness.

His Excellency expressed his thanks to the Ambassador and his great gratitude for the continued support of the member states of the OIC in general and the Republic of Djibouti in particular, stressing the Academy’s readiness to strengthen partnership and cooperation with religious and scientific institutions with the member states of the Organization, and in particular welcome the proposal of his Excellency to organize a specialized scientific symposium on the topics and issues mentioned by His Excellency the Dean of Diplomatic Corps in cooperation with religious and scientific institutions in the Horn of Africa in the near future.

His Excellency concluded his speech by kindly inviting His Excellency to visit the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah, as well as provided him with a copy of the fourth edition of the book of resolutions and recommendations of the Academy, and issues of the monthly newsletter.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mohamed Al-Idrissi, Director of Public Relations and Media Department at the Academy.

He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
