63rd Weekly Meeting of Departments Directors

The General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) held its sixty-third weekly meeting for the directors of departments headed by His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, on Monday 21 Jumada II 1443H corresponding to 24 January 2022G, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.

His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, thanking them for their regular attendance and their keenness to follow up and implement the outcomes of the meetings and work to achieve them in line with the course of the strategic plan drawn up by the Academy, stressing that all decisions issued by these meetings are binding and the duty to implement them with all their details and at the deadlines that were meticulously and carefully set for them. Then His Excellency reviewed the English version of the Book of Resolutions, which came into being after twenty-two years absence, praising the group that worked on it until it appeared in its final form.

Then, His Excellency touched on the work of the fiftieth session of the Permanent Financial Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that was held last week, where His Excellency recorded his thanks to the Department of Financial and Administrative Affairs for the great effort that was made in highlighting the activities and programs of the Academy through its annual financial report, which was fully approved, indicating the accuracy of the financial policy followed, and added that the committee recommended some minor objective improvements, which His Excellency conveyed to the Financial Affairs Department, stressing the need to strictly follow them in order to achieve the required efficiency and transparency of the Academy’s accounts.

The meeting then discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several new decisions were issued, the most important of which are:

  • Submitting a final report on the fingerprint system, installing CCTV cameras, and starting work with it.
  • Calling for papers for the Food and Drug Symposium, and the Muslim Communities Symposium.
  • Installing CCTV cameras inside and outside the building without any delay to ensure the safety of employees and properties of the Academy.
  • Distributing the second edition of the Resolutions Book in English to the OIC and all its subsidiary organs, diplomatic missions, universities, scientific and research institutions in member states and Muslim communities.
