IIFA Secretary General visits Embassy of Senegal in Riyadh

His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), visited on Thursday, 03 Jumada II 1443H, corresponding to 06 January 2022G, the Embassy of the Republic of Senegal in the Embassies District of Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

His Excellency Mohamadou Dodo, Ambassador of Senegal, and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), received His Excellency the Secretary General, and thanked him for the visit, which is the first visit of an official from the Academy to the Embassy headquarters. He stated that this visit is an honest expression of the appreciation and love of the Republic of Senegal leadership and people, as well as an affirmation of his Excellency’s desire to strengthen the relations of cooperation and partnership between the Academy and scientific institutions in Senegal in order to spread the culture of moderation, tolerance and coexistence on the one hand and to strengthen communication and coordination between the Academy and religious institutions in order to combat all forms of intolerance, extremism, fanatism and terrorism on the other hand. He then expressed his delight with the great development and qualitative change he noticed at the General Secretariat of the Academy during his visit to the headquarters of the Academy in Jeddah, which is a source of pride for all, and testament to good leadership of His Excellency.

His Excellency concluded by expressing the readiness of the Republic of Senegal to provide all support to the Academy to enable it to play its esteemed and distinct role in uniting the Ummah and achieving communication and cooperation between scholars and experts of the Academy and scholars of Senegal in the fields of research and fatwas.

For his part, His Excellency the secretary General expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Ambassador for his good reception and welcome, praising the great support and care the Academy has been receiving from the Republic of Senegal since its founding to this day. His Excellency also expressed his great appreciation and gratitude for the recent visit of the Ambassador to the General Secretariat of the Academy. He stressed the full readiness of the Academy to strengthen the relations of partnership, cooperation, coordination and communication between the Academy and Senegalese academic and religious institutions in all fields, especially the field of dissemination of moderation, tolerance, and coexistence.

His Excellency concluded with the promise of his willingness to visit Senegal soon.

His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Walid Al-Idrissi, Director of the Department of Media, Public Relations, &IT at the Academy.
