On Thursday, 14 Sha’ban 1443H corresponding to 17 March 2022G, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the thirty-third periodic meeting of divisions heads, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Secretary General welcomed the heads of divisions, thanking them for their regular attendance at these important periodic meetings that discuss the new issues of the Academy and put them for debate, in addition to following up on the implemented activities and programs. Then His Excellency spoke about the suffering that the State of Afghanistan is going through internationally and seeking to address the intellectual and religious problems by forming a delegation of scholars of the Academy to visit Afghanistan to clarify the correct Shariah position on contemporary issues such as the right of both sexes to education, women’s participation in development, construction and renaissance efforts, the importance of adhering to the approach of moderation, spreading a culture of moderation, tolerance and coexistence, and other issues.
The meeting then discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several decisions were issued, the most important of which are:
- Preparing a work plan for collecting and drafting the CVs of the members and experts of the Academy.
- Recreating the (Ramadan Sermons) section on the Academy’s website, including the Academy’s resolutions related to fasting and the blessed month of Ramadan.
- Reviewing the fatwa on vaccinations and their permissibility for the fasting person during the day in Ramadan to be published on the Academy’s website.
