The General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) held its 79th weekly meeting for department directors on Monday 30 Shawwal 1443H corresponding to 31 May 2022G, via video communication technology.

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, from his residence in the United States of America, where he began by welcoming the attendees, thanking them for their regularity and participation in these meetings, then His Excellency spoke about the latest developments in his visit to the United States of America, where the delegation of the Academy held a meeting with Executive Director of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Washington, DC, and they discussed possible aspects of cooperation and coordination between the two parties, especially with regard to the issues and conditions of Muslim communities in the United States of America. It is worth noting that this council is considered the official mouthpiece for Muslims and is recognized by the US government. His Excellency also held a series of activities and scientific meetings, in addition to signing a cooperation agreement with the Religions for Peace Foundation, which is concerned with religious affairs and the extent of its contribution to maintaining security, peace and stability.

His Excellency also received an invitation from the managers of the famous Al-Hijrah Mosque in the American capital, Washington, in the United States of America, where His Excellency delivered the Friday sermon, and then led the worshipers to perform Friday prayers, in which he spoke about the hadith narrated by Jaber bin Abdullah, may God be pleased with them, he said “: The Messenger of God was asked , may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family: who is the most beloved of people to God, he said: may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family: the most beneficial of them to the people. Then he was asked about the best of deeds. He said: The joy that you enter into the heart of a Muslim.” The sermon was well received by the worshipers who wished that the visit of His Excellency to their mosque would be repeated.

The meeting discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several decisions were issued, the most important of which are:

• Preparing a concept for holding a symposium on the phenomenon of Islamophobia after reviewing the resolutions of the Academy on it and extracting action programs from it, with the aim of considering the possibility of organizing it in Pakistan.
• Verifying the attendance and departure dates and determining the itinerary for the participants in the symposium of stunning poultry when sending tickets to them.
• Preparing contract clauses that clearly and accurately include the conditions required for printing the Academy’s journal and considering the remarks made upon reviewing the new version by Mufakirun Press House, while emphasizing the principle of auditing and reviewing for external auditors.
• Communicate with the General Secretariat of the OIC regarding holding a specialized symposium on “the institution of the family, its challenges and prospects” in the twenty-first century, and presenting them with the concept, as well as the Women’s Development Organization with the aim of cooperating and coordinating with them to hold the symposium.
