His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), received His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Abdullah bin Mosa, Secretary General of the Arabic Language International Council, on Sunday, 18 Dhu al-Hijjah 1443H corresponding to 17 July 2022G at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.

His Excellency welcomed the honorable guest, and thanked him for this visit, which is the first of its kind to the headquarters of the General Secretariat, praising the highly appreciated efforts made by the Arabic Language International Council to preserve the language of the Noble Qur’an, and the language of the Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him. His Excellency emphasized that the Arabic language is considered the first official language of the Academy, and its proficiency and mastery is a prerequisite for ijtihad and fatwas in Islam, with the agreement of scholars, ancient and modern, and the Academy considers it the most honorable language, as it is the language chosen by God to preserve His great revelation and His Noble Prophet, which makes caring for it one of the most emphatic duties, and the greatest of rites. His Excellency also took the opportunity to provide his honorable guest with an overview of the Academy since its establishment until today, and to brief him on its programs, goals and projects that he intends to implement in the future. His Excellency expressed the desire to consolidate the relationship between the Academy and the Council by concluding a strategic cooperation agreement between the two parties that defines the areas of cooperation between them and establishes an extended phase of serious and fruitful joint work and achieves for them success and prosperity.

For his part, His Excellency the Secretary General of the Council expressed his great pleasure with this important visit and his thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Secretary General of the Academy for the good reception and warm welcome, praising the great position occupied by the Academy in the conscience of all Muslims all over the world because of its good reputation and distinguished scientific standing and a good impact on the lives of Muslims through sober and correct resolutions that it constantly issues and cover all aspects of life. His Excellency also expressed the desire of the Arabic Language International Council to build a sustainable partnership and to enhance areas of cooperation and coordination between the two institutions in everything related to the dissemination and support of efforts to learn and teach the Arabic language all over the world in order to preserve the language of the Noble Qur’an, and to enable young people to learn and master it. His Excellency also took the opportunity to invite His Excellency the Secretary General of the Academy to attend and participate in the International Conference on Laws, Regulations, Legislation, Policies and Language Planning, which will be organized by the Council in the period 22-25 November 2022G at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr. Omar Zuhair Hafez, Special Adviser to the Secretary General of the Academy, Mr. Mohammed Walid Al-Idrissi, Director of the Department of Media, Public Relations, Information Technology and Communication at the Academy, and Mr. Mourad TLiLi, Adviser to the Secretary General of the Academy for Media Affairs.
