His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the 89th weekly meeting of the directors of the departments on Monday 16 Safar 1444H corresponding to 12 September 2022G at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.

His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the directors of the departments, thanking them for their keenness to attend and contribute to the discussion of the various issues raised at the meeting. Then, His Excellency informed the meeting of the contact he had made with the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Organization Islamic Cooperation (OIC), His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Saleh Al Sehaibani, regarding the delegation’s support for the General Secretariat of the Academy in order to obtain local sponsors to finance some of the costs of the upcoming twenty-fifth Session, especially the financing of tickets, hotel and transportation costs. His Excellency informed the attendees of Dr. Al Sehaibani welcome to cooperate with the Academy in this matter, promising to do his best to communicate with the relevant authorities.

Then the meeting discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several new decisions were issued, the most important of which are:

• Holding the Board of Trustees of the Academy’s Waqf Fund meeting on 19 September 2022.
• Forming a specialized committee consists of members from several departments tasked with updating on a daily basis the list of participants in the Session, all their data, and the various work of the Session.
• Sending the completed research papers to the selected presenters and selecting the presentations dates according to a pre-set timetable.
