His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the ninetieth weekly meeting of directors of departments on Monday, 23 Safar 1444H, corresponding to 19 September 2022G, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the directors of the departments, thanking all employees for their commendable efforts in preparing for the 25th Session of the Academy. His Excellency took the opportunity to offer, on his behalf and on behalf of all the members of the Academy, condolences to our colleague, Mr. Moez Riyahi, on the death of his father-in-law, praying for the deceased’s forgiveness and mercy. Then His Excellency spoke about the various contacts and meetings he had with His Excellency the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), His Excellency the President of the Academy Council, and His Excellency the Saudi Permanent Representative to the OIC, all of which focused on mobilizing the necessary support for the success of the next Session of the Academy. In this context, His Excellency assured the attendees of the positive response and the full support he received from all of them, which heralds a successful and exceptional Session, God willing.
Then a discussion of the items of resolutions issued by the previous meeting followed, and several new resolutions were issued, the most important of which are:
- Postponing the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Academy’s Waqf Fund until the completion of the attendance of all members.
- Addressing the permanent Saudi delegation to the OIC to mediate with the concerned authorities in order to obtain permission to accept and collect donations for the Academy’s Waqf Fund.
- Increasing the number of researchers for the 25th Session of the Academy from the African and Asian groups.
- Setting a date for a visit to the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action to discuss ways to develop areas of cooperation between the two parties.
- Contracting with one of the publishing and printing houses in order to print the research papers submitted for the 25th Session of the Academy at affordable prices.
