The General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) held its ninety-first weekly meeting for the directors of the departments headed by His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano on Monday 30 Safar 1444H corresponding to 26 September 2022G at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and thanked them for their commitment to participate in the weekly meetings, reiterating that these meetings will be about following up on the latest developments in preparations for the twenty-fifth Session of the Academy, and discussing mechanisms of cooperation between the departments of the Academy for the success of the Session. His Excellency then spoke about the visit of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Saleh Bin Humaid, advisor at the Royal Court, member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Imam and Khatib of the Grand Mosque, and President of the Academy on Sunday evening to the Academy, where he presented to His Excellency a summary of the latest preparations and procedures related to the Session and discussed with him the most important proposed steps for holding it.
His Excellency the President expressed his thanks to the Secretary General, wishing him and his team success in holding the Session as soon as possible.
Then His Excellency discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, to ascertain the extent of their achievement. Several new decisions were issued by the meeting, the most important of which are:
- Communicate with the members of the Academy to nominate some researchers who hold a PhD to contribute with research papers to the Academy’s forthcoming session.
- Sending the Academy’s publications to the scientific bodies and institutions with which the Academy has signed cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding.
- Searching for local printing houses to get quotations in order to know the cost of printing the research papers of the twenty-fifth Session, attaching a report to it, and submitting a report on the media coverage of the Session.
