In an effort to strengthen relations of cooperation and partnership between the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) and distinguished scientific institutions and centers in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, and His Excellency Prof. Attaullah Arkan, President of Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul, signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions, on Thursday 25 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1444H, corresponding to 21 October 2022G, at the university’s headquarters in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey.
This agreement aims to build a focused strategic partnership in the field of joint scientific studies and research on calamities and contemporary issues, as well as the joint organization of conferences and symposia, in addition to the exchange of publications.
Following the signing of the agreement, His Excellency the Secretary General of the Academy expressed his happiness at signing this agreement with one of the emerging universities in the Mulsim world in the field of intellectual, social, economic, legal and communication studies, praising the rapid developments and qualitative changes witnessed by the promising university, noting in this regard the quality of programs and scientific disciplines it offers. He concluded by expressing his aspiration that this agreement would be a good opportunity to benefit from the expertise and scientific capabilities that this university abounds in, by soliciting male and female researchers from its various faculties and institutes to participate in the Academy’s sessions, seminars and conferences, in order to enhance the close scientific and research cooperation between the two institutions in various fields.
For his part, His Excellency the President of the University expressed his great thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Secretary General for the completion of this agreement between the two institutions and for the appreciation he has for this promising university, stressing his aspiration for the University, through its faculties, institutes and scientific centers, to harness all its capabilities to make this agreement a success, and to implement its provisions in the proper manner. His Excellency also praised the scientific status of the Academy, and the respect that the Academy enjoys within and outside the member states of the OIC, as a pioneering model for intellectual convergence among the Ummah’s scholars, and for promoting cooperation and integration among its scientific institutions.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Ali Yasali Mak, Vice President for Legal Affairs, Prof. Elaf Arkilt, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Anas Yelman, Head of the Department of External Relations at the university, Dr. Ismail Jebaji, Head of Research and Encyclopedia Division at the Academy, Mrs. Sarah Amjad Hussein, Director of Family Affairs Department at the Academy, and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Mustafa, Head of Protocol Division at the Academy.
