The President of the ICYF welcomes IIFA Secretary General at the Forum’s headquarters in Istanbul

His Excellency Mr. Taha Ayhan, President of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), received His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), and his accompanying delegation, on Friday 25 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1444H corresponding to 21 October 2022G at the Forum’s headquarters in Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Forum expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Secretary General for visiting the Forum. He also expressed his aspiration to strengthen relations of cooperation, partnership and coordination between the Academy and the Forum on all issues and questions related to Muslim youth around the world. For his part, His Excellency the Secretary General expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the President of the Forum and all his assistants for their appreciable efforts in guiding the youth and raising their awareness through activities, events and programs that help them preserve their Islamic identity, values, and traditions, as well as their pride in their belonging to the Ummah, noting the importance of adhering to the method of moderation and spreading the culture of moderation, tolerance, coexistence and harmony among young people. His Excellency also pointed out the importance of moving away from using intimidation and coercion methods when addressing young people, and instead instilling the values of love, honesty, uprightness, critical thinking, transparency, courage, love of creativity and innovation in them, and making use of the available social media and means to create the desired change in their perceptions and behavior.

Then the two parties discussed possible aspects of cooperation in light of the agreement of understanding signed by the two institutions about a year ago. Accordingly, His Excellency offered the Forum President to host in Istanbul, the specialized symposium that the Academy intends to hold on “the family institution in the twenty-first century: Challenges and Prospects”, in order to activate the provisions of the agreement; Note that the symposium will dedicate an important part of its sessions to discussing the most important intellectual, social, economic, cultural and political challenges facing Muslim youth in the era, with an explanation of how to transform these challenges into opportunities for building and empowerment. The President of the Forum welcomed the idea of ​​jointly organizing the aforementioned symposium, and staff from both parties will communicate to complete the organizing procedures in the near future.
