The General Secretariat of the Academy held its forty-third periodic meeting of division heads, headed by His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), on Tuesday 22 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1444H corresponding to 18 October 2022G, via video technology from his residence in Cairo, Republic of Egypt.
His Excellency opened the meeting, welcoming the attendees, thanking them for their keenness to attend these periodic meetings, and reminding and motivating them to continue to exert effort and continue work and diligence in achieving the goals of the Academy. Then His Excellency spoke about his participation in the Seventh International Conference for Fatwas in the Republic of Egypt, in which he delivered a speech at the opening session of the conference. His speech was well received and well appreciated, and most newspapers and websites published excerpts of the speech on their pages.
His Excellency also spoke about signing a joint cooperation agreement between the Academy and Al-Azhar University, which aims to build a broad strategic partnership in the scientific, intellectual and research fields between the two institutions, especially in the field of joint studies and research on calamities and contemporary issues.
The meeting then discussed the agenda, and the discussions resulted in a number of decisions including:
- Nominating two parties for partnership and cooperation with the Academy to hold a symposium: “The Family Foundation: Challenges and Prospects.”
- Referring some of the Session’s research papers to the media and conference departments, for coordination and formatting, similar to the coordination and formatting of the printing division.
- Forming a scientific committee for the final review of the Session’s research.
