95th Weekly Meeting of Department Directors

His Excellency Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the ninety-fifth weekly meeting of the directors of the Academy’s departments on Monday, 28 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1444H corresponding to 24 October 2022G, via video technology from his residence in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey.

His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees, thanking them all for their perseverance in attending these important meetings and calling on everyone to work on accomplishing the tasks entrusted to them, especially the tasks related to the organization of the twenty-fifth Session of the Academy. In this context, he informed the meeting of the contacts he made with officials in the headquarters country in order to mobilize support and assistance for this Session.

Then His Excellency touched on the subject of the working visit that he and the delegation accompanying him are currently making to the Republic of Turkey, where he participated in the work of the 12th session of the Information Ministers’ Meeting of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and on the sidelines of the visit, he carried out many other activities, where he signed two strategic cooperation agreements with Ibn Khaldun University and Sabah al-Din Zaim University in Istanbul. He also met with the President of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum in Istanbul. The meeting resulted in the two sides agreeing to jointly organize a symposium “Family Foundation in the 21st Century: Challenges and Prospects” in Istanbul during the coming period.

Then the meeting discussed the items of the previous meeting’s decisions and several new decisions were issued, the most important of which are:

  • Sending the finished research papers of the twenty-fifth Session to the delegated and appointed members of the Academy.
  • Updating the list of participants in the twenty-fifth Session of the Academy with the addition of the official capacity of each participant.
  • Providing the Academy’s Media Department with new computers to enable it to carry out its tasks without any delay.
  • Holding daily meetings for all the subcommittees responsible for organizing the 25th Session of the Academy in order to be prepared fully and early.
