97th Weekly Meeting of the Department Directors

His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), presided over the 97th weekly meeting of the departments, on Monday 11 Rabi’ al-Thani 1444H corresponding to 07 November 2022G at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and thanked them for participating, stressing that these meetings will be to follow up the progress of work on the preparations for the twenty-fifth session of the Academy. Then His Excellency spoke about his participation in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue “East and West for Human Coexistence,” which was organized by the Muslim Council of Elders under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was held at the Isa Cultural Center in Manama with the participation of a number of prominent intellectual figures and representatives of religions from different countries of the world. The holding f the Forum in Bahrain is an affirmation of the status of the kingdom as a living model of coexistence, acceptance and recognition of the other and enabling them to practice their rites and beliefs freely.

Then His Excellency spoke about the preparations for the twenty-fifth session, where the departments submitted detailed reports on the latest developments related to the session’s work and what has been accomplished.

Then the meeting discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several decisions were issued, the most important of which are:

  • Sending the finished and edited research papers to the Academy’s members so that they can read them in time.
  • Sending letters of thanks to the President of the University of Bahrain and the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, and a draft cooperation agreement to the university of Bahrain.
