Ms. Sarah Badewi, Director of Women and Family Affairs Department at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), participated in the “First International Conference of Aesthetic Gynecology and its Jurisprudence” held by the Saudi Society for Studies in Medical Jurisprudence affiliated to Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, in Jeddah; in cooperation with IIFA, on 12-13 Rajab 1444H corresponding to 03-04 February 2023G, at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Jeddah.
The conference, which lasted for two days, aims to introduce cosmetic and regenerative gynecology, the ethics of professional practice, and contribute to spreading the culture of cosmetic gynecology. Dr. Hanan Bint Ali Sultan, head of the conference, consultant for infertility and gynecological cosmetology, explained that regenerative cosmetic gynecology is a delicate and relatively new specialty branching from the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Noting that with the change of the concept of “health” from the concept of prevention and treatment of diseases to the concept of “improving the quality of life based on the body and sensation”, this specialization has gained a widespread recently, especially non-surgical procedures, as this specialization is considered one of the promising recommend specializations. Experts predict that it will be one of the beauty trends in the near future.
In her speech during the opening session of the conference, Ms. Sarah Badewi affirmed the Academy’s keen interest in everything related to health, in search of Shariah solutions that would facilitate the job of health workers and help them to provide their services to society in a distinguished way. She explained that the conference is a great opportunity in which doctors cooperate with jurists in order to study these contemporary medical developments related to regenerative cosmetic gynecology, adding that the approach of the Academy in dealing with issues related to public health is based on looking at these issues through their positive and negative results on the one hand, and the consequences of preserving the objectives of the Shariah, especially the purpose of preserving the soul and preserving the offspring, on the other hand.
In conclusion, the Director of Family Affairs called on the Saudi Society for Studies in Medical Jurisprudence to further cooperate with the Academy to hold joint conferences and seminars in order to study various medical emergencies and developments. She also called on everyone to make the most of the resolutions and recommendations issued by the Academy regarding many medical emergencies and developments, which include satisfactory answers to many questions related to medicine.
