H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustaph Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, received H.E. Dr Mas Noorani bint Haji Mohiuddin, Director of the Shafi’i Madhab Research Center, and H.E. Dr Amni Suhaila Abrahan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Finance at Sultan Sharif Ali University, on Thursday 01 Safar 1445, corresponding to August 17, 2023, at the Academy’s headquarters.

The Secretary General welcomed his guests and thanked them for their visit, and presented the Academy’s vision and mission, as well as its willingness to cooperate with Brunei’s universities and other scientific and religious institutions.

For her part, H.E. Dr. Mas Noorani thanked His Excellency for his warm welcome and for the honor of visiting the Academy, which is considered the supreme authority on Fiqh in the Islamic world. H.E. Dr. Noorani underlined the good reputation enjoyed by the Academy thanks to the great services it renders to the Ummah through its rulings, recommendations, and declarations, and looked forward to developing cooperative and coordinated relations between the complex, the university, and the center, particularly with regard to scientific visits by university and center staff, as well as participation in joint conferences and seminars on issues of common interest. Her Excellency concluded her speech by inviting the Secretary General of the Academy to visit the university and its center, which is dedicated to the study of the Shafiite school of law.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Muhammad Walid Al-Idrisi, Director of the Department of Media, Public Relations and Information and Communication Technology, Ms. Sara Bedwi Director of Familiy, Women and Children and Dr. Alhagi Manta Drammeh, Head of International Cooperation and External Relations at the Academy.
