On Thursday, 20 Muharram 1445, corresponding to 7 August 2023, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, accompanied by a delegation from the Academy, presented the condolences of the Secretariat General of the Academy to the Consulate General of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the passing of Mr. Henri Konan Bidier, former President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, on August 1, 2023.

Moreover, His Excellency recorded his condolences in the register designated for that, saying: “In the name of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy emanating from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, its presidency, general secretariat, members, experts, and employees, we present, on this sad occasion, to His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, may Allah protect him, and the honorable people of Ivory Coast, and the family of the deceased, offer our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences, asking God Almighty to bestow His mercy on the deceased, pardon him, and grant his family and relatives patience and solace.

It is worth noting that President Henri Mr. Konan had ruled the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire during the period from 1993 to 1999.
