The Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, chaired the seventeenth joint weekly meeting of IIFA’s departments and divisions on Monday 11 Ramadan 1444, corresponding to 21 March 2024, at the Secretariat General’s headquarters in Jeddah.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and thanked them for participating, indicating that this meeting and the upcoming meetings will be joint between the departments and divisions to follow up on the work progress of the 26th session of the Academy. His Excellency spoke about his participation in the international conference: “Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools” organized by the Muslim World League under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, where His Excellency delivered a speech at the conference’s closing session. His Excellency also extended his thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as leadership and people for this blessed invitation, and to the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Alissa, for this initiative that restores the Ummah’s hope that the Ummah will be able to address many issues and challenges.

Based on the Academy’s values of cooperation, integration, and solidarity, His Excellency urged departments and divisions to cooperate and work together to make the 26th session a success.

The meeting reviewed previous decisions and issued new ones, notably:

• Re-organizing the library’s books, storing their categories and titles on the computer software, and updating existing information.
• Designing the 26^th session’s brochure and complete the production of the documentary film well in advance before the session.
• Complete the distribution of IIFA’s newsletters for the three years in the three languages to delegations, embassies, and consulates.
