Born in 1967 in the city of Zarqa in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, H.E. Dr. Mohammad Ahmad Msallam Al-Khalaileh received a bachelor’s in 1995 from Yarmouk University, a master’s in 2001 from the University of Jordan, and a doctorate in 2009 from the International University of Islamic Sciences, specializing in Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals, respectively. His Excellency has served in several duties, such as Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites of Jordan since 2019, Grand Mufti of Jordan (2017-2019), Chairman of the Ifta Council, Mufti of the Jordanian capital (2008-2011). His Excellency was also a lecturer at Prince Hassan College of Islamic Sciences in Amman, at the International University of Islamic Sciences, and in the General Department of Ifta, editor-in-chief at the Ifta Bulletin issued by the Public Ifta Department, and Chairman of the Holy Qur’an Committee in the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf. His Excellency also served as a member of the Jordanian Ifta Council, Research and Islamic Studies, a member of the Council of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites in the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, a member of the Committee for the Reconstruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque, a member of the Jordanian Ministry of Education’s Education Council Committee and Curriculum Committee, Chairman of the Sharia Audit Committee in the Directorate of Orphans Fund Development/ Department of Judges, Member of the Board of Directors of the Zakat Fund at the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf. His Excellency is the recipient of Jordan’s King Abdullah II Medal for Excellence, in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of Ifta and his efforts to highlight the true face of Islam and its values. As a member of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Ahmad Msallam Al-Khalaileh has represented the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan since 2020.
