Born in 1955, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz bin Qassim Al-Haddad received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in Islamic Law from Umm Al-Qura University. His Eminence has served in significant positions as the Grand Mufti and Director of Dubai’s Ifta Department, member of the Dubai Council of Senior Scholars, member of the Emirate Ifta Council representing the Emirate of Dubai, member of the Emirate Ifta Committee at Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, member of the Council of Muslim Elders, chairman of the Supreme Sharia Council for Islamic Financial Banks at the Central Bank, Associate Professor at Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, Associate Professor at the College of Islamic Studies and Imam Malik College for Sharia and Law, member of the Sharia Committee for Classification and Control at the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions, an expert member at the Islamic Fiqh Council of the Muslim World League, AAOIFI member, member of the Sharia Committee of the General Awqaf Authority, member of Zakat Fund’s Sharia Committee, as well as other Sharia committees in different financial institutions. As a member of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, H.E. Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Haddad has represented the United Arab Emirates since March 14, 2017.
