Moreover, His Excellency was appointed member of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, representing the Republic of Guinea, in 2001.

His Excellency has held several important academic, administrative, and political positions, including: Professor of Comparative Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Islamic Finance, and Maqasid al-Shariah for sixteen years at the International Islamic University Malaysia; Founding Director of the International Institute for Muslim Unity in Malaysia; and Deputy Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia for External Relations and Innovations. He also served as Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Guinea, Minister of International Cooperation, Minister for Diplomatic Affairs at the Presidency of the Republic, Diplomatic Adviser to His Excellency the President of the Republic, and was subsequently appointed Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
