His Eminence Dr. Muhammad Mizanur Rahman bin Saeedur Rahman was born in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in 1963. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Da‘wah and Oriental Studies from Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, Higher Institute of Islamic Da‘wah, Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He earned a Master’s Degree in Arabic Studies from Darul Uloom Karachi University in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in 1983, and subsequently obtained a Ph.D. in Islamic Jurisprudence and Law (Fiqh and Fatwa) from the same institution in 1985.
His Eminence was appointed as a designated member of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), representing the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in 2025.
Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held several prominent positions, including:
- Founder and President of Dar al-Ifta and Shaykh al-Hadith at the Sheikh Zakariya Islamic Research Center in Bangladesh;
- Founder and Director of Al-Faruqia Islamic University;
- Imam and Khateeb of the Central Mosque;
- Secretary-General of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah Organization in Bangladesh; and
- Member of the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh.
His Eminence has also traveled extensively to numerous Arab, Islamic, and Western countries.
