Born in Tunis in 1922, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Habib bin Al-Chadhli Belkhoja obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sharia from the Az-Zaytuna University in Tunis and a doctorate in Arabic literature from the Sorbonne University in France.

His Excellency held several scientific and administrative positions inside and outside his country, the most important of which include as Former Mufti of the Republic of Tunisia, member of the Islamic Research Academy at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, member of the House of Wisdom in Tunisia, member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Islamic University of Medina.

H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Habib Belkhoja was the delegate member of the Republic of Tunisia since the creation of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy as well as its Secretary General for twenty-four years (1984-2008). His Excellency passed away in 1433H, corresponding to 2012. May Allah shower him with His mercy and reward him with eternal gardens of paradise.
