Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Akbar al-Taskhiri was born in Najaf in 1944, Ayatollah Muhammad Ali al-Taskhiri received his education at the College of Jurisprudence in the city of Najaf, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Arabic sciences and Islamic jurisprudence and took Hawza lessons in Najaf. He held several scientific and administrative positions in his country, Iran, the most important of which included Secretary General of the World Assembly of Ahlul Bayt, Secretary General of the World Assembly for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on Cultural Affairs of the Muslim World, Assistant Director of the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for International Affairs, Member of the Leadership Experts Council, President of the Association for Culture and Islamic Relations, and teacher of Hawza sciences in Qom and Arabic and Islamic sciences in several universities and centers in Iran.
As a member of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, His Excellency represented the Islamic Republic of Iran since the Academy’s foundation until he died in Tehran in 1442 AH / 2020 AD.
