H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, chaired the 131st weekly meeting of IIFA’s departments on Monday, 04 Rabi Al-Akhir 1446, corresponding to 07 October 2024, which took place at IIFA’s headquarters in Jeddah.
At the meeting’s onset, the Secretary General welcomed the attendees and spoke about the importance of the administrative organization of the departments and assigning department’s staff to replace the director in attending the meeting when the latter cannot do so. He also spoke about the Academy’s wish to organize a specialized scientific symposium on Sharia Supervisory Boards in Islamic Financial Institutions: Reality and Prospects; and he emphasized the need to start conceptualization and preparations.
The meeting discussed the previous decisions and issued new ones, namely:
- Sending a request to H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, President of UAE Fatwa Council, to host the twenty-seventh session of the Academy.
- Complete the summary of the recommendations and conclusions of the Cultured Meat Symposium according to the themes of the symposium’s program.
- Outlining the documents issued by the MWL and OIC, such as the Makkah Document, Building Bridges Declaration, and Muslim Women’s Declaration, and include them in the 26th session agenda to be adopted by the Council of the Academy as part of its resolutions and recommendations.
