H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, chaired the 26th joint weekly meeting of departments and divisions on Monday, 1 Dhul Quida 1446, corresponding to 29 April 2025, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary General greeted the staff, noting that this was the last meeting before the 26th session. He thanked all the committees that worked to make the session successful in all its stages and spoke about the final arrangements for the session. He announced that all tickets and visas for participants and staff of the Academy had been received, as well as the final print edition of the book of resolutions in the three languages.
The meeting reviewed previous decisions and issued new ones, notably:
- Confirming the basic tasks assigned to the staff in the session, fulfilling all tasks related to the session, and focusing on continuous presence in the hall.
- Following up on the sessions of the drafting committees by the Ph.D. holders from the Academy.
- The Head of the Translation Department shall translate the speeches of the OIC Secretary General and the Malaysian Representative for Religious Affairs (Director of JAKIM). He will serve as the assistant to the Malaysian representative, providing him with explanations and clarifications on all matters until his departure.
- The Head of the Encyclopedias Division shall distribute the draft biographies from the Biographical Dictionary to the Academy’s members and experts for their comments and suggestions.
- Urgently prepare six (6) deluxe copies, including four in Arabic, one in English for the Malaysian representative, and one in French for the OIC Secretary-General, from the latest edition of the book of resolutions.
- Including a special recognition on the agenda to pay tribute to the first-generation members from founding countries and appreciations to the supporting staff.
- The Head of the Sessions and Conferences Division shall be responsible for all secretarial and printing work for the session, including the printing of the proposals of the drafting committees and recommendations, followed by the final printing of the recommendations, statements, letters, and other printing tasks.
- The Head of the Translation Division shall follow up on updates to all information posted on the Academy’s website. Technical aspects shall be left to the Head of the Media and Information Technology Department to make the necessary adjustments.
- The Head of the Translation Division will be responsible for monitoring and updating all content posted on the Academy’s website. Technical modifications will fall under the purview of the Head of the Media and Information Technology Division, who will implement any required adjustments under the supervision of the Head of Translation.
