His Excellency Prof. Dr Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, chaired the twenty‑seventh joint weekly meeting of the departments and divisions on Wednesday, 25 Rajab 1447 AH, corresponding to 14 January 2026, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.
At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and praised the performance of the General Secretariat’s staff at all levels, giving special commendation to the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department for completing the preparation of the financial budget and financial review, which contributes to enhancing the Secretariat’s overall performance.
The meeting also addressed the preparations for the upcoming Religious Leadership Symposium scheduled for the end of March 2026. Discussions regarding research papers, visas, and travel arrangements resulted in several urgent directives, most notably:
• Emphasising the need to send the completed visas for the accepted participants in coordination with the relevant embassies, and expediting the submission of the final list of participants and their passports to the Protocol Department to finalise visa procedures.
• Following up on the issuance and dispatch of travel tickets for participants whose visas have been completed, along with coordinating arrangements for receiving VIP guests at the airport’s VIP lounge.
• Completing the procedures for issuing airport entry permits for the concerned staff members immediately upon their return from the upcoming leave.
• Creating a shared electronic link to coordinate information related to the Religious Leadership Symposium (such as research papers, participants, agenda, and sessions)
