Visit of the Head of the Political and Economic Affairs Department of the U.S. Consulate General to the Secretariat General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy

Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Mustapha Sano, received in his office at the Academy headquarters in Jeddah on Tuesday morning 04 Rabi Al-Awal 1442, corresponding to 20 October 2020, Mr. Alan Krause, Head of the Political and Economic Affairs Department at the Consulate General of the United States of America in Jeddah and his accompanying delegation.

His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Sano made a detailed presentation on Islam and its vision in dealing with humanitarian issues on the international scene. His Excellency also presented a comprehensive overview of the activities of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy in the fields of jurisprudence and fatwas, issued by the Academy in service of the global community.

Views were exchanged on several intellectual and scientific issues, particularly the issues of family, women and children at the global level, as well as issues related to the fight against extremism and intolerance through the dissemination of the culture of coexistence, tolerance, and commitment to the approach of moderation in ideas and actions.

The two sides agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation and communication between the Academy and the American academic institutions concerned with the issues of the Muslim world and societies.

Secretary‑General of the Academy Visits the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Excellency Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, paid an official visit on 29 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 17 February 2026, to the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Jeddah. For his part, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude and great appreciation to the Ambassador for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
