To Allah we belong and to Him we return

May Allah have mercy on you, forgive you, and shine the light in your abode

«Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration »
Al-Ahzaab – 23

We count you – Allah willing – among these honest and loyal men,

My older brother Anas Kaleesa,

Your presence at the sessions of the Academy for two decades has been a source of trust, security and comfort. I enjoyed listening to your calm, realistic, open-minded and comforting comments.

Yes, I remember well what I sensed in you at the last session of the Academy an unusual: an unusual calm and incomprehensible isolation… as if you were that year bidding farewell to this blessed place after praying at the rawda of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, sallah Allahu alayhi wassalam…

My older brother,

You left our world after dedicating your life to the call of Allah, to the spread of Islam, to defend it and its people in Uganda and neighboring countries. You left a good impression on your family, friends and loved ones, I give you the sure and final promise that my honorable brothers and I will always love you and make duas for you.

Our condolences and those of the Academy as president, secretary, members, experts and staff…

May Allah the Almighty reward to all those who invoke for you, and may He inspire your family and loved ones in Uganda and throughout the world with patience, solace and contentment for the fate and destiny of Allah. For, He is the All-Knowing, Merciful, and Compassionate…

Your little brother / Koutoub Sano

Secretary General of the Academy
