To Allah we belong and to Him we return

“O reassured soul (27) Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing to Him (28) And enter among My righteous servants (29) And enter My Paradise (30)

Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah, of them some have completed their vow to the extreme, and some still wait, but they have never changed their determination in the least.

May Allah have mercy on you, my teacher, Hassan Abu Ghuddah.

It is a year, not like every year, and a month not like every month, but rather a week that is not like every week,

The Ummah has been distressed by the news that a constellation of great scholars has left this year to the mercy and abode of their Lord,

Death deprived the fiqh community and us in less than a week, of an ingenious jurisprudence and great creativity. He is our teacher, jurist, investigator, verifier, creative, wise man, Dr. Hassan Abu Ghuddah – may Allah have mercy on him.

Creativity and innovation were always present in his lectures, classes and discussions. I testify that I had never visited him in his office at King Saud University without a brief and very useful fiqh lesson.

I will not forget that blessed day when you granted me the honor of attending the defense of my master’s thesis alongside the eminent Professor Numan Al-Samarrai.

May Allah have mercy on you, my professor, and may Allah grant you the best reward, for all those who have loved you,

May Allah be pleased with you and with your great Sheikh Mohamed Habib Belkhoja, first Secretary and co-founder of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.

May Allah accept you, O my teacher, among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, the righteous, and these are the best companions.

May Allah inspire us, your family, your relatives, and friends with patience, solace and contentment for what the Most Merciful has decreed, and may He reunite us with you and with those who perished in serving Islam and Muslims in the gardens of bliss in an assembly of truth near the All-Powerful Sovereign.

The International Islamic Fiqh Academy presents its deepest condolences, as President, Secretary, members, experts, and all its officials.
