Praise is due to Allāh, Lord of the worlds, may the blessings and peace be upon our master Muḥammad, the last of prophets, on his family, and all his companions.
After reading the statement issued by the conference held in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic, from 25 to 27 August 2016, entitled: Who are the Sunnis,
After listening to the debates and controversies that have erupted around the subject,
The Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, confirms that unity among Muslims is one of the most important duties prescribed by the Sharia, and that it is a necessary quality of the Ummah, for the Almighty said: (and hold fast the rope of Allah all undivided among yourselves) and the Almighty said: (this is your only nation and I am your Lord, so worship me), and the Almighty said: (those who divided their religion, and they were sects, you have nothing of them”
The Messenger of Allah PBUH confirmed this, who said, “Muslims are equal in blood, and they are one hand against the other.
In application of these percepts, the secretariat of the Academy calls upon the Muslims of the east and west of the earth, to work for unity of speech and unity of rank, and to avoid all that leads to the division of the Ummah in word and deed, which contributes to its weakening and fragmentation, and leads to its division and conflict among them. your wind).
The Secretariat of the Academy also considers the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah (People who follow the Sunnah and Jamaah/Community) to be all those who testify that there is no other Allah but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and respect the companions of the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, and respect and love his family, praise and peace be upon them.
The Academy states that the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah are all those who believe in the pillars of faith and are absolutely certain of the pillars of Islam, and do not necessarily deny what is known of the religion. This includes its admissibility of a matter that the Shariah absolutely forbids, such as killing a soul, which was clear in the resolution of the Academy (no….) issued in its 17th session in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 28 Jumada al-Ula – 2 Jumada al-Akhira 1427 (24-28 June 2006), which was adopted and emphasized by the Third Extraordinary Islamic Summit Conference held in Makkah on 5-6 Dhul-Qa’dah 1426 (7-8 December 2005), as stipulated in the OIC Ten-Year Program.
The International Islamic Fiqh Academy is active in the fight against extremism and terrorism. Its activities are wide-ranging and include explaining Islam’s approach to the Middle Way and moderation.
The Academy also works to prepare preachers and future scholars who know the essence of Islam, understand the realities, challenges, means of discourse, and use them with knowledge and understanding, and work to understand the different sciences of Shariah such as the creed, the Qur’an and Exegesis, the sciences of Hadith, Fiqh, its maxims, and principles, the Seera (biography of the Prophet), as well as the akhlaq (ethics), in a conscious, balanced manner, and with a deep understanding
The Academy calls for the gathering of scientific institutions at the national level, as academies, ifta councils, and universities, for pioneering scientific projects. It is with the diversity of educational institutions and facilitates its ways, rejecting all kinds of deviations in Islamic education, working to prohibit any deviation or deviance, and seeking to expose all types of deviation, deception, and corruption.
The Academy also calls for dialogue and cooperation, and encourages the right path that includes Islam as revealed by Allah the Almighty, and to expand the fields of Islamic education in schools and universities and various guidance and information institutions, in order to train specialists who, understand the challenges and safeguard and maintain the process effectively and actively.
Furthermore, the Secretariat of the Academy cannot but beg Allah Almighty, to spare the Muslims from all evils, protect them from all trials, apparent and hidden, gather their word, unite their ranks, and motivate them to serve their unity, and protect their path.
And may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions.
