His Excellency Ambassador Kamal Bashir Dhan, Permanent Representative of the State of Libya to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), visited His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), on Tuesday 8 Jumada II 1443H corresponding to 11 January 2022G, at the headquarters of the Academy ’s General Secretariat in Jeddah.
His Excellency expressed his heartfelt thanks to His Excellency the Secretary General for the warm welcome and good reception, and his deep appreciation for the qualitative changes and remarkable developments witnessed by the General Secretariat of the Academy, whether at the administrative or scientific and intellectual levels since His Excellency assumed his duties as Secretary General of the Academy, praising His Excellency’s great keenness to unite the Ummah’s word and spread the correct concepts of the true religion, and to promote the values of moderation and peaceful coexistence.
His Excellency concluded by expressing his aspiration to strengthen relations of cooperation and communication between the General Secretariat of the Academy and the State of Libya through the new permanent delegation, wishing His Excellency and the Academy more success in achieving the activities and programs of the Academy’s strategic plan, stressing his full readiness to provide all facilities and services necessary for the success of the various programs and projects of the Academy. His Excellency also pledged to ensure that the State of Libya fulfills its full material and moral obligations towards the OIC and all its organs.
For his part, the Secretary General welcomed His Excellency and thanked him for this visit, which indicates the appreciation of His Excellency and the Libyan permanent delegation to the Academy, and it also affirms the sincere desire to consolidate relations of cooperation and communication between the General Secretariat of the Academy and the scientific and religious institutions in the State of Libya, praising in the meantime the high scientific level enjoyed by Libyan scholars and the pivotal and pioneering role played by the Libyan religious and scientific institutions, especially the Libyan Waqf and Islamic Affairs Authority.
His Excellency concluded by emphasizing that the Academy is looking forward to working and communicating with the permanent delegation, and with all Libyan scientific institutions and centers concerned with issues of thought, social and economic topics, as the Academy is fully prepared to harness all its scientific capabilities to support the Libyan government and the brotherly Libyan people in achieving security, safety and peaceful coexistence, with eagerness to renounce violence, extremism and hate speech.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdel-Fattah Mahmoud Abnauf, Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Academy, Mrs. Sarah bint Amjad Hussain, Director of Family and Women’s Affairs at the Academy, and Mr. Mourad TLiLi, Advisor to the Secretary General of the Academy for media and public relations affairs.
