Condemning and Denouncing Houthi Militia Terrorist Attacks

On Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

All Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace of Allah be upon our Prophet, his companions and family.

The General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which is the supreme doctrinal reference of the Muslim Ummah, expresses its strongest condemnation of the terrorist attacks carried out by the criminal Houthi militias on Monday 14/06/1443H, corresponding to 17 /01/ 2022G, on vital civilian installations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, leading to a number of innocent victims and casualties. The General Secretariat of the Academy expresses its deep denunciation of the desire of these terrorist militias to destabilize the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates.

As the General Secretariat of the Academy strongly condemns these horrific terrorist attacks contrary to the principles of our religion, and to all international norms, customs, and conventions, it extends its deepest condolences to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and the Government and people of the United Arab Emirates. The Secretariat also extends its deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, asking Almighty God to accept them among the martyrs, to ensure the speedy recovery of the injured, and to protect the United Arab Emirates and all Muslim countries from the evils of extremism and terrorism.

On this painful occasion, the General Secretariat of the Academy calls on scholars, intellectuals, and wise people everywhere to assume their responsibility to combat the roots of extremism, and terrorism, especially to uproot and dismantle those dangerous intellectual premises from which the Houthi terrorist militias justify infallible bloodshed, destroy infrastructure, terrorize civilians, and sow discord, sectarian fighting, and destruction & mayhem throughout Yemen.

The General Secretariat of the Academy also renews its call for concerted scientific and intellectual efforts at all levels to counter extremism and terrorism, to renounce vehemently violence and intolerance by promoting moderation, tolerance, and coexistence as a safety valve for communities and societies everywhere.

We ask Allah the Almighty to preserve security, stability, and prosperity for the United Arab Emirates, and to protect it from all transgression and aggression.
