Secretary General of the Academy attends washing ceremony of Kaaba in Makkah Al-Mukarramah
At the kind invitation of the Saudi government and its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, attended on Monday evening, 17 Muharam 1444 corresponding to 15 August 2022, the historic annual ceremony of washing the Kaaba which is a reenactment of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, PBUH, when he opened (fath) Makkah in the 8th year after the hijra.
HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense had the honor to wash the Kaaba on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect them. This honorable occasion was attended by a number of dignitaries and personalities invited by the Saudi Royal Court. After washing the Kaaba, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his guests performed two rak’ahs inside the Kaaba, and His Royal Highness circumnutated (tawaf) the Ancient House with them.
On this blessed occasion, the Secretary General of the Academy expressed his great happiness, pleasure and thanks to the government of Saudi Arabia for giving him the opportunity to attend this honorable occasion, he said:
“And ever has the favor of Allah upon you been great (Quran 4:113). It is a great honor to witness this important historical moment that reminds us of that immortal day on which the Prophet of guidance and light, washed with his own hands the Ancient House, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, circumnutated a number of honorable companions, may Allah be pleased with them, in the year of conquest, the 8th year after the hijra.
Language cannot describe the feeling I had while kneeling for two rak’as in this pure and blessed place gathering the events of this great epic. In fact, I have no words to express the feeling that possessed me and my eyes shed silent tears as I thanked Allah for His grace and mercy in allowing me to witness this occasion.
What a wonderful occasion! what a noble house! What a pristine location! And what a great blessing to remember and be thankful for!!
On our own behalf and the Ummah, May Allah reward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as King, government, and people, with the best reward and blessings, for their care and patronage of the Ancient House and all the holy places. And May Allah grant the Kingdom, its wise leadership, and its people endless state of security, safety, stability, and prosperity.”
