Guinean Chargé d’affaires in Riyadh visits the Academy

The Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), H.E. Prof. Koutoub Sano, received on Saturday morning, 14 Safar 1444 corresponding to 10 September 2022, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah, H.E. Mr. Nabi Soma, the new Chargé d’affaires of the Republic of Guinea in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Secretary General welcomed his honorable guest and congratulated him on his appointment as Chargé d’Affaires of Guinea to the Kingdom, wishing him every success in his duties, praising his long experience in diplomacy and foreign relations during his years of service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guinea. His Excellency also expressed his great thanks and gratitude for the generous care and regular support that the IIFA has enjoyed from the Guinean leadership and people, hoping that his appointment as Chargé d’affaires will lead to the reinforcement of cooperation between the IIFA and the scientific, and religious institutions in Guinea, especially the institutions and centers concerned with the promotion of moderation, tolerance, coexistence and harmony among the followers of religions. Then, His Excellency presented to his guest a brief overview of IIFA’s vision, mission, objectives, programs and activities, and the recent changes since taking over as Secretary General. His Excellency concluded his speech by renewing his high appreciation and gratitude to the Government of Guinea, headed by President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Col. Mamady Doumbouya, for the kind reception and warm welcome during his recent visit to Guinea, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect them, grant them success and perpetuate the security and stability of the Guinean people.

For his part, the Chargé d’affaires expressed his great pleasure and pride in his first visit to IIFA since taking office and conveyed to him the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Morisanda Kouyate, wishing him continued success and achievement in his duties, which is a source of pride and honor for every Guinean. He also expressed his aspiration to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the Academy and the scientific institutions of Guinea, especially the Ministry of Religious Affairs, with which the Academy signed an MoU during his Excellency’s visit.

H.E. Nabi Soma, the Chargé d’affaires, wrote in the IIFA guestbook: “I had the honor of meeting H.E. Prof. Koutoub Sano, the Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy that he administers successfully and masterfully. I was really impressed during our conversation, and I was very happy with the developments and the leaps that I saw. I would like to say that the S.G.’s personality is a source of pride for me and for all Guineans because thanks to him, we feel that the image of the Republic of Guinea and the position of its people has been reinforced, and it has become more honorable and brilliant. May Allah protect him and grant him success”.
