10 June، 2023

At the kind invitation of the Bangkok Mosque, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, delivered the Friday sermon at the Bangkok Mosque in the Thai capital on Friday 20 Dhu Qui’da 1444, corresponding to June 9, 2023.

His Excellency began his sermon by recalling the importance to observe his Creator in secret and in public, and to prepare to meet Him, His Majesty, after leaving this world, He stressed that each of us is in this strange and transitory life, that the world is a house of passage and the hereafter is a house of residence, and that each of us should realize that there is an account to give for every word we have spoken, for every action we have done, and for every action we have taken. He prepares for death before it reaches or surprises him, by perpetually observing God and holding himself accountable, complying with God’s commands and avoiding His prohibitions. He then reminded the faithful that contemporary social media are a blessing from God that the Muslim must use in what pleases God and avoid using them to disobey the Almighty. He emphasized that they are considered one of the beneficial and harmful means at the same time, and that they are beneficial for those who master and use them to please the Lord, and harmful for those who use them to spread rumors, lies, and evils in societies. His Excellency also mentioned the worshippers of the word of the Almighty, who said, “That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.” And the Almighty said: “Do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned.” And the Messenger of Allah PBUH said: “So be sincere, for sincerity leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise, and beware of lying, for lying leads to immorality, and immorality leads to hellfire, and a man goes on telling the truth until he is recorded with God as truthful, and a man goes on telling lies until he is marked with God as a liar.”

His Excellency concluded his sermon by inviting the faithful to fulfill their duty to guide and direct young people, spouses and friends in the use of these means in a way that will benefit them and their community, thanking the Creator who perfected His religion, Who promised the grateful to increase their rewards: (And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.’ “”.

The sermon was very well received by the various nationalities who flock to this beautiful mosque in the heart of the capital, whose courtyards and squares are packed with worshippers from all over the capital.
